The author gives a daring account of our country's obsession with fitness, pursuit of perfection, and fate of ignorance. Nickelson focuses on the affliction of body concepts and the rising phenomena of body sculpting while also addressing the public’s unhealthy lifestyles and eating behavior. The book discusses unrealistic portrayals of self in the media, shifting cultural norms and the concept of health.

 
 

COLOR AND REALITY                                                                                                        

"Color and Reality: America's Tinted History of Race" is a hypothetical book written by Dr. Grace Van Kern. Van Kern gives an overview of how the issue of race is portrayed in history books, shares her views on the reality of a color-blind society, and speaks to a growing concern of racism in America. She addresses a wide range of topics including media-based profiles, the connection to terrorism and racism, failures within the corporate sports arena, as well as the effect of pop-culture and music on our view of difference.
